Abstract:In 2014,Stick-Held Net Fishery for Cololabis saira from China got fast development. We used the fishing data from May to November of “OUYA No.1” in 2014 to study the spatiotemporal distribution pattern of saury fishing grounds. The results indicated that the distribution of fishing ground changed widely in month, and it mainly concentrated in the waters near 38°N~48°N, 147°E~163°E. The changing direction of fishing grounds was basically identical with the routes of saury migration in Northwest Pacific. The average value of CPUE in August was the lowest, only 9.1t/d, while the average value of CPUE from September to November was higher. The average value of CPUE in the ranges of 39°N~40°N and 42°N~45°N were higher than that of other latitudes, and the average value of CPUE in the ranges of 146°E~148°E, 153°E~157°E and 160°E~161°E were higher than that of other longitudes which was above30 t/d. The range of SST in fishing area was from 9.8℃ to 16.5℃, and during 72% of the fishing time, the SST ranged from 12℃ to 14℃. In general, the spatiotemporal distribution of saury fishery in the high seas of the northwestern Pacific has obvious seasonal changes, and the CPUE value is volatile.
